ALASCA community build for SONiC

  • kick-off meeting today (Marius to report)
    • good turnout (18 people)
    • good, constructive discussion (also on feasibility)
    • support was clearly visible (but many challenges)
  • four work packages
    • small use-case as foundation
    • build pipeline
    • custom CLI (or "management framework")
    • evaluation
    • potentially "legal"
  • next steps (FOCIS)
    • mailing list (by beginning of next week)
    • potentially support with setting up CI/CD pipeline
    • currently we are committed to other topics, such as hackathon, CLT
    • we don't have specific SONiC expertise
    • still, could support with general onboarding of a new project, maybe Gitlab runners
    • also provide advice
